Welcome to Château Le Prieuré

A 4-star hotel in a magnificent setting

It was in the 10th century that Benedictine monks settled on the Priory estate, to live together and create a place of worship. Over the ages, its architecture was transformed to become Renaissance in style, notably under the aegis of the Count of Aupébin in the 19th century and the Count of Castellane at the beginning of the 20th century. It is to the latter that we owe the Château terraces overlooking the Loire, which are today a major asset of the place.

We had a great time!

A beautiful place, a warm welcome, and the rooms are very clean and spacious. The decor and style transport us to another era. The staff is very helpful and attentive. The breakfast is truly generous with quality products. The bar is very cozy and offers a panoramic view of the Loire. We had a wonderful time! Special mention to Laurent, the maître d'hôtel, for his kindness, availability, advice, and professionalism. He delightedly told us the history of this château and that of the family that owns it. Even though the setting is sublime, I'll start with the staff: from A to Z, they're top-notch, with professionalism, availability, and occasional touches of humor that make for a very enjoyable experience 😌. The setting: you just have to see the photos to appreciate it. The restaurant: very good, with fine and creative cuisine and lots of thoughtful touches. An extraordinary sunrise

We stayed for my husband's birthday. The welcome and staff were very warm and friendly. The Napoleon Suite (it wasn't planned...surprise!!) is magnificent, impressive for the size of the fireplace and furniture!! With a magnificent view of the Loire. We enjoyed an extraordinary sunrise. The dinner, with its refined flavors, was delicious, with discreet and efficient service. Bravo to the staff. We loved the decor; it was a nice change of scenery. The bathroom was very clean. Perhaps we need slippers or more bath mats. Since we don't live far away, we will return to enjoy the restaurant.
