Here is a smoother, more elegant and immersive version, while preserving the historical information: Le Prieuré dates back to the 10th century, when Benedictine monks settled on the estate to live in community and establish a place of worship. Over the centuries, the site witnessed the passage of time and underwent numerous architectural transformations, gradually taking on the distinctive character of the Renaissance. In the 19th century, the estate was transformed once again under the direction of the Count of L’Aupébin, before being profoundly shaped at the beginning of the 20th century by the Count of Castellane. It was notably under his influence that the Château’s magnificent terraces were created, overlooking the Loire. Today, these terraces are one of Château Le Prieuré’s greatest assets. Majestically overlooking the river, they offer an exceptional panoramic view of the Loire and contribute fully to the unique charm and identity of this remarkable place.
